VirusBarrier is an iOS app by Intego that lets you easily scan e-mail attachments, other files you have access to on your iOS device, or files on remote locations such as MobileMe and DropBox, web servers or WebDAV shares.

While there are little known virus and malware reported on iOS devices, the latest PDF exploit on iOS does increase the concern of users using older iOS version. They may choose to stick with their current iOS and don’t want to upgrade. For older iPhone models like iPhone 2 or iPhone 3G, the latest iOS 5 is not supported in these devices anymore. So, there is no way for them to upgrade unless they purchase a new device.

VirusBarrier iOS uses Intego’s award-winning VirusBarrier X6 scanning technology to detect and eradicate all known malware affecting Windows or Macs: viruses, worms, Trojan horses, fake antiviruses, and other types of malware that might otherwise pass through undetected.

Want to blog from your iPhone device? WordPress app for iPhone, iPod and iPad is here. You can write new blog post right from your device and publish it to your readers especially when you are away from your computer. This is especially useful when you have idea right away and want to note it down before your idea is gone away.

What you need is an Internet Connection. You can save it as local draft first before posting to the live blog. Saving your article on your device does not need to have Internet Connection. You can change the post anytime you want until you are satisfy and ready to publish it to the web. Once you have save the changes to your live blog, it will take effect immediately right away.

There are limitations in the current version of WordPress App for iPhone. There is no HTML WYSIWYG editor to easily add bold, underline, heading and paragraph to your post. Editing is purely in simple text and you need to have some basic HTML knowledge to add HTML tag into your content. Images added will be in HTML image tag format also.

However, you can add photos from your photo library or camera folder. If you want to preview you written post, you can always do that by tapping on the “Preview” tab when you are editing the post. It will load the content to your blog in preview mode.

This WordPress app comes with option to edit comments, posts, and pages of multiple blogs. You can approve, mark as spam, unapproved and edit comment easily with this handy app. This app is very useful for blog owner who has busy life and have lots of comments to be reply and approve. You can do that now wherever you are. Although, you can do that also by opening the safari web browser, but it is not really that efficient than an app. Opening a web page need to zoom in to see the text clearly especially when you are using iPhone that comes with small screen. Unlike iPad with a screen size similar to a laptop screen.

Now, you can add and edit posts with WordPress app. Multiple blogs are supported. Setting up multiple blogs are easy. What you need to make sure is enable the XML-RPC service in your WordPress writing section. After you have enable XML-RPC service, WordPress app can recognize and start downloading your latest posts to your device. Simple and neat.

WordPress for iPhone is not perfect tough. It has many limitations. Many great features are missing and need improvement. Let’s hope the coming version has more features added.
